    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

RBM20 (F1Z2J) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total RBM20 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val1219 of human RBM20 protein.

    Background

RNA-binding protein 20 (RBM20) is highly expressed in striated muscle and the heart. It contains a highly conserved RNA-recognition motif 1 and an arginine/serine-rich region, which facilitates splicing of pre-mRNA with other spliceosomal proteins (1-3). In striated muscle, RBM20 controls the intron retention and exon skipping of the titin mRNA, contributing to sarcomere function (4,5). Mutations in RBM20 have been extensively categorized as a cause of cardiomyopathy (1,2,6).

    Alternate Names

    Probable RNA-binding protein 20; RBM20; RNA binding motif protein 20; RNA-binding motif protein 20; RNA-binding protein 20
