    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

RBM5 (E8G8K) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total RBM5 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly325 of human RBM5 protein.

    Background

RBM5 is an RNA binding protein that regulates alternative splicing through association with the spliceosome (1,2). First identified as a tumor suppressor gene, RBM5 interacts with U2AF65 in order to regulate many pro-apoptotic genes, such as Fas (3). RBM5 is notably deleted in many lung cancers, and also has been shown to be a key regulator in male germ cell pre-mRNA splicing (4-6).
