Have you done any cross-reactivity testing with α-CGRP, β-CGRP and unprocessed precursors using the CGRP (D5R8F) Rabbit mAb #14959?
Our CGRP (D5R8F) Rabbit mAb #14959 is produced with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val114 of human CGRP protein (UniProt ID P06881 isoform 3; http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P06881). Isoform 3 has a predicted molecular weight (MW) of 14 kDa, but is further processed into the mature α-CGRP protein (calcitonin gene-related peptide 1). #14959 is also likely to detect β-CGRP protein (calcitonin gene-related peptide 2), which is encoded by a second distinct gene [i.e., CALCB (UniProt ID P10092; http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P10092)]. α-CGRP and β-CGRP are the mature peptides of 37 amino acids with predicted MWs of 3.8 kDa. The western blot images on the product datasheet show detection of α-CGRP and/or β-CGRP proteins (apparent molecular weights on Tris-Glycine gels of approximately 5-10 kDa) However, the antibodies are also predicted to detect the unprocessed precursors.
