What can cause false positives using the Senescence β-Galactosidase Staining Kit #9860?
The pH of the staining solution is critical and a pH below 6.0 is the most common cause of false positives when using the Senescence β-Galactosidase Staining Kit #9860. False positives may also be seen with:
- Serum-starved cells
- Contact inhibited cells
- Confluent or over-confluent cells
- Increased lysosomes unrelated to senescence
- Specific cell lines
