Why do I see multiple bands with your c-Myc antibodies?

Multiple bands may be observed when detecting c-Myc because there are multiple isoforms of c-Myc and c-Myc undergoes several potential post-translational modifications (e.g., phosphorylation, acetylation, glycosylation, and ubiquitination). Therefore, depending on the antigen used to produce the antibody, it may be expected to detect multiple bands for total c-Myc.
