Why does DAB1 detected in mouse and rat brain tissues exhibit a higher apparent molecular weight compared to DAB1 observed in human cell lines when using the Dab1 (F6E1K) Rabbit mAb #23180 antibody?
The higher molecular weight observed for DAB1 in mouse and rat brain tissue compared to human cell lines is likely due to alternative splicing. DAB1 has multiple isoforms, and the brain tissue may express longer splice variants. This splicing variation can also lead to the appearance of multiple bands in certain human cell lines, such as NCCIT.
